2 months old

I am constantly in awe at how fast time flies!  My precious little Alythia is already two months old!  She is more beautiful and precious than the day she was born.  At two months she is full on with smiles and has really started to figure out her giggle too.  She laughs when we make silly faces and when she is tickled.  Much nicer than before when she would cry when tickled.  She still does not enjoy tummy time but is starting to try and move her legs in an effort to crawl when she is on her stomach.  She loves to play with her playmat how and bats at the toys and giggles away.  It's so cute how she cracks herself up with this simplest little things.  She loves fans, lights, mirrors (when she catches a glance at herself), bright colors and patterns.  She is interested in everything that goes on around her and very intently takes it all in.  There have been a few times when she got a little overwhelmed by it all and started to cry but most of the time she is the happiest little girl!

Happy 2 month birthday!

You are already two months old!  Mommy can hardly believe how quickly the time is going by.  You are such a joy to my heart and your smile makes everything seem better, no matter what the circumstances.  God has blessed us richly with the gift of you.  This month you were pretty busy.  You went on a road trip up to Michigan and met lots of aunts and cousins on mommy side of the family and one of daddy’s aunts and her daughters.  You got to meet your great grandparents and they were so thrilled!  Your great-grandpa was so taken by you and great-grandma could hardly stop staring and smiling.  You are so loved!  When we got home your aunts Kristen and Kelly came up from Florida to see you and stayed with mommy and daddy for the weekend.  They had so much fun holding you and playing with you.  Maybe someday you will have some cousins for you to play with.  The next weekend mommy and daddy took a little vacation with you up to Cincinnati to relax before daddy went back to school.  We drove up for the day and you were finally able to meet grandpa Stoming!  He was so happy to meet you too.  He couldn’t stop smiling and watching you and you were pretty taken with him as well.  We had dinner with one of daddy’s cousins who lives there as well.  On Sunday, your 2 month birthday, we decided to go to the Reds game after church and you got to watch your very first baseball game.  The stadium gave you a certificate and everything.  You did so well with all of our adventures!  You had a little trouble sleeping at the hotel the first 2 nights but I think it was because you don’t have much experience sleeping on a flat surface and you were in a pack n’ play for the first time.  You got the hang of it by the third night and slept right through till almost 6am!  You are getting so big!  You love to stand on mommy and daddy’s legs and will stay standing for over a minute each time.  You can also push yourself up from squatting with a little motivation.  You’re not so crazy about tummy time yet though I am really trying to get you to push up on your arms to you strengthen them and are able to crawl.  We have been somewhat consistent at reading you a bedtime story and have been working our way through a children’s bible app that daddy found for you.  We have been reading in Genesis about Adam and Eve and Noah and the flood.  It’s so fun to watch you look at all the pictures and someday you will begin to understand the stories.  We pray that you not only understand them but believe that it is God’s precious word to us and accept Jesus as your savior.  We pray for you every day that you would grow to know and trust him.  Things will settle down now for us as daddy is starting back to school full time in a couple weeks.  I look forward to all of the time I will get to spend with you and to watch you grow.  You are such a treasure, my child.  Mommy and Daddy love you so very much.  Happy 2 month birthday!!
